Spencer Dock, Dublin.Back To Projects

Architect: Kevin Roche & Assoc.
Quantity Surveyor: Bruce Shaw Partnership
Main Contractor: John Sisk & Son Ltd

Description:

Approx. 8,000m2 of Schüco Skyline 65 unitised system incorporating both beaded and structurally glazed glass retention.
Our production facility had a purpose built production line installed so as to allow the units to be manufactured and assembled in WCIL into panels of 11.5m2. These panels were shipped from our works in Clondalkin direct to the Spencer Dock site on specially adapted lifting frames fitted to purposed made low loaders. Once on site the units were craned into position directly off the back of the low loader into their final position on the side of the building.
Units contained a mix of high performance double glazed units, spandrel units, bespoke box louvre panels and external Brise Soleil
Entire facade was installed without the requirement of external access to the work face.
Once the first 6 floors were complete an extra floor was constructed leaving the building 7 storeys high.
