Williaam Cox Ireland Limited were responsible for the design and installation of the glazed facade to the PRONi building in Befast.
The building's main decorative feature includes a glazed fin protruding from the side of main entrance doors. The building is striving to achieve BREEAM Excellent rating through the use of thermally efficient materials, natural ventilation and highest quality building work.
The feature fin contains images of 20 specially commissioned pieces of artwork laminated onto 3m x 1.5m glass units. The art work is focussed on significant images and documents found in the Public records archive. The Natural ventilation package was also supplied by Williaam Cox.
The main contractor was Harcourt Construction Ltd with design by Todd Architects. Williaam Cox's contract manager was John Feeney with site management undertaken by Eamon Hannaway. "We view the PRONI building work as a fine example of how we bring our specialised execution of high specification glazing and ventilation systems to address challenging and innovative building design while working with expert local sub-contracts where appropriate" says Sales Director Martin Sweeney.
