Description:
Phase one of this project (the new extension) was completed in June of 2000.
Phases two and three dealt with the actual integration of the new extension with the existing terminal. The main feature of this project was a new glass and steel facade to the double height space at departures level.
The project consists of 1500m² curtain wall screens in the Schüco FW50+ Horizontale system, with the pressure plate and cap fitted horizontally and silicone joints vertically. The system is fixed back to the primary structure by means of support arms.
The glass specification is a 26mm double glazed unit: 8.4 laminated inner pane, 12mm airspace, 6mm. Ipasol Natura outer pane.
